Pastor Paul Antunes

Head Pastor

Born in Vancouver BC, Paul Antunes strongly felt God nudging him toward ministry as a youth. Since then, he’s used his God-given talents as a pastor and musician in Canada, the United States, and Brazil.

Paul’s pathway of ministry began at the age of 8 after his family, an immigrant Portuguese family in British Columbia, Canada, watched a series of telecast meetings by renowned Seventh-day Adventist evangelist Pr. George Vandeman. From that time, God lead Paul’s family into serving others.

Leadership and music performance opportunities in high school further cemented his decision for youth and music ministry. Following his father’s advice, Paul went to Brazil after his high school graduation to study theology and to re-learn Portuguese.

Paul’s initial decision to study abroad for one semester turned into five-and-a-half years in Brazil. During those years, he was heavily involved with preaching, teaching, choirs and singing groups in addition to performing his first solo concerts, and last but not least getting married to a sweet Brazilian gal, Raquel who won his heart, not only because of her “GREAT LOOKS”, but also because of her drive for life, passion for God and compassion to help people.

In 1995 Pr. Paul & Raquel moved to Canada and served as a youth pastor at the Rutland Adventist Church in Kelowna, B.C. A couple years later, while studying for his master’s degree at AndrewsUniversity, Paul recorded his first CD in Portuguese, and began extensive touring throughout Brazil. Following the completion of his Masters degree the family moved back to BC and served in North-West BC Terrace & Stewart, Kelowna and then took quick skip over the Rockies to Alberta where they had the honour to be the Chaplain of Canadian University College for 5 ½ years. Following working at CUC, the Antunes family accepted the call to be the Associate Pastor of the Univeristy Church in Sao Paulo City, Brazil.

Pr. Paul & Raquel & their two children Matheus and Miquela are now serving as the Lead Pastor family for the College Park Church. They have a passion to see people discover, uncover and embrace their niche for God’s kingdom.

A phrase that Pr. Paul loves: “Those who aim at nothing, hit it with amazing accuracy.”
